History
Since 1968 Decor has expanded to provide interior design services to customers from Rochester to Albany!
Where we came from.
Our journey began in 1968 as Decor Designs, a family-run wholesale business catering to designers on Barker Hill Road in Jamesville, NY. For the following four years, we focused on serving the local designer community, both large and small.
In 1972, we placed our first advertisement, a newspaper ad, offering discounted fabrics from a manufacturing company that was going out of business. The ad was so successful that we were able to open the Fabric Mill retail store, which still sells cut fabrics and window treatments to this day.
Over the next three decades, we continued this model and expanded our offerings to include custom window treatments for both residential and commercial customers. By 1997, our sales had outgrown our Barker Hill warehouse, so we moved to a newer, larger facility at our current location in Jamesville, NY.
In 2008, we acquired another fabric company, Recovery Caboose, located in Pittsford, NY. After ten years of operations, we moved the Recovery Caboose to our current Rochester, NY location in Penfield, NY and rebranded as Decor Fabrics & Design.
That is the story of a one-man operation in Jamesville, NY that started in 1968 and has grown to include 30 employees across three locations, serving customers from Rochester to Albany.
Where we are going.
We don't intend to reinvent the wheel. Our success is built on providing our clients with top-quality products and exceptional service. We will continue to do so as long as New York residents want to elevate the interiors of their homes.
